Mena's specialist in premium metal and stone-coated steel, run by the Davis brothers who grew up in Polk County, with top-1% Owens Corning Platinum status behind every roof and systems built to outlast Ouachita-foothills hail and wind.

Conflict of interest: Roofing Force is run by the immediate family of a member of The Roofers Guide team, and it is a paying marketing client of EaveSide, the company that owns The Roofers Guide. It is held to the exact same vetting framework as every other roofer, pays The Roofers Guide nothing for leads or placement, and is excluded from paid placement. We disclose this here, on Roofing Force's profile, and on our disclosure page. Read our disclosure.

$9,000–$18,000 typical asphalt replacement

What a new roof runs for a typical single-family home in Mena before insurance. Standing-seam metal runs higher. The number moves with your roof’s size and pitch and how much decking has to be replaced once the old layers come off.

Reader questions

01How much does a new roof cost in Mena?
Pricing varies with roof complexity, material, and decking condition, but a standard architectural-shingle replacement on a single-family home in Polk County generally runs meaningfully less than what you would pay in Little Rock or Fort Smith. Stone-coated steel and metal run higher but last far longer. Get at least two written, itemized estimates from registered contractors before signing, and treat any bid that comes in wildly higher or lower than the others as a flag. If a roofer gives you a firm price without getting up on the roof, they are guessing.
02How do I make sure a Mena roofer is legit before I sign anything?
Five things, and any honest roofer will hand them over without a fuss. One, their Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board Residential Roofing Registration, which you can confirm at the ACLB portal. Two, a certificate of insurance sent straight from their carrier, covering both liability and workers' comp. Three, a couple of local addresses they have finished in the last year that you can drive by. Four, the warranty in writing, both the manufacturer's and their own workmanship. Five, watch the deposit: a normal draw is a portion up front, never the full amount before the work starts. After a hailstorm, out-of-state crews knock door to door within days, pressure you to sign before you have called your insurer, and sometimes promise to absorb your deductible, which is illegal in Arkansas. Everyone on this page cleared these checks before we listed them.
03How does Arkansas regulate roofing contractors?
Arkansas requires roofing contractors performing residential work to hold an Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board Residential Roofing Registration, and commercial work above the state threshold requires a commercial contractor license. Registration confirms the business is on record and carries the required insurance. You can verify a contractor's registration status directly at the ACLB portal. It is also illegal in Arkansas for a contractor to pay or absorb your insurance deductible, so treat that offer as a red flag.
04What's the storm pattern in Mena and Polk County?
Polk County sits in the Ouachita foothills of west-central Arkansas and has a documented hail and wind history that produces insurance-claim activity most years, including the April 2009 EF3 that hit downtown Mena and the November 2022 outbreak that swept the region. That storm history, combined with the county's distance from the metro markets, draws out-of-state storm-chasing contractors after major events. Stone-coated steel and impact-rated shingles are common choices for their durability under repeated hail and wind.
05Why isn't a particular Mena roofer on this list?
We only list roofers who clear our vetting, and Polk County is a small market, so the list is short by nature. If you think we've missed a Mena roofer worth featuring, email us at hello@theroofersguide.com and we'll take a look.
06Can a roofer pay to be on this list?
No roofer can pay for a passing grade or a higher spot. Every roofer here cleared the same vetting: registration and insurance checks, reviews read across Google, BBB, and Facebook, and a review of their manufacturer certifications. Some roofers are Featured Partners, always clearly labeled, and a partner clears the exact same bar as everyone else. We earn nothing from Roofing Force, the family-affiliated contractor, which is disclosed on its card and on our disclosure page.

Roofing in Mena: what to know

The storm history, how Arkansas licenses roofers, and the questions we ask any Mena contractor before we feature them.

Mena and Polk County, in context

Polk County sits in the Ouachita foothills of west-central Arkansas, with Mena as the county seat. It has a documented hail and wind history that produces meaningful insurance-claim activity most years, including the April 2009 EF3 in Mena and the November 2022 outbreak that swept the region. Because the county sits far from the metro markets of Little Rock, Fort Smith, and Texarkana, out-of-state storm-chasing contractors regard it as fertile ground after major events.

How Arkansas regulates roofers

Arkansas requires roofing contractors performing residential work to hold an Arkansas Contractors Licensing Board Residential Roofing Registration, with a separate commercial contractor license for larger commercial jobs. Registration confirms the business is on record and carries the required insurance, and you can verify status directly at the ACLB portal. It is also illegal in Arkansas for a contractor to absorb your insurance deductible. We verify a roofer's registration and that they carry liability and workers' compensation coverage.

About this guide

Every roofer on this page cleared the same vetting before we listed them: we confirmed their registration and insurance, checked their manufacturer certifications, and read their reviews across Google, BBB, and Facebook. Polk County is a small market, so the list is short by nature, a few roofers we would actually call ourselves. Treat it as a strong head start, not a substitute for your own diligence: always confirm registration, insurance, and the written warranty before you sign.
