Who we are
The Roofers Guide is a small, independent team that works in and around the roofing industry: marketing, software, and operations for contractors. Seeing the trade up close, the legitimate multi-generational shops and the out-of-state storm chasers who pass through the same market, is how we learned to tell them apart. We built The Roofers Guide as the resource we wished homeowners had: independent vetting, plain-English guides, and a short list of roofers in each city we would actually call ourselves. We earn through referral fees and clearly labeled Featured Partner placements, and neither one changes who passes vetting or who we recommend.
The Roofers Guide is owned and operated by EaveSide, a company that builds software and marketing tools for roofing contractors. Seeing the trade from that side is how we learned to tell a legitimate local roofer from an out-of-state storm chaser. That ownership also creates conflicts we take seriously: some roofers we vet are or become EaveSide customers, and one of us has a familial connection to a roofer who may qualify under our framework. The rules we follow because of those relationships are disclosed in full on the disclosure page. A Featured Partner clears the exact same vetting bar as everyone else: money can buy a labeled spotlight, never a better rating.
Why we do this work
Roofing has two completely different industries hiding inside it. There is the legitimate side: local operators with twenty-year reputations, multi-generational businesses, supply-house accounts that go back decades. And there is the storm-chasing side: out-of-state operators, dissolving LLCs, door-to-door canvassers, deductible kickback schemes.
The big directories don’t distinguish between them. The AI listicles can’t. We can, and every city we cover is a short, vetted list a homeowner can actually trust in a system that has been failing them for at least a decade.
