Privacy policy

The Roofers Guide is a homeowner guide to vetted local roofers, run by EaveSide, a roofing-industry software and marketing company. “We” in this policy means The Roofers Guide and EaveSide.

• What you type into a request form: your name, phone, email, property address and ZIP, what your roof needs, your timing, your preferred way to be contacted, and anything you add.
• How you reached us: the page you used, the site that referred you, and ad tags such as Google or Facebook click IDs and campaign names.
• Basic usage data: pages viewed and buttons used, collected by our analytics and advertising tools, which may use cookies.
• Ad measurement: when you send a request after clicking one of our ads, your browser sends Google a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email, phone, name and ZIP so Google can tell us the ad worked. Google cannot read the scrambled values back into your details.

• To send your request to the roofer you chose and help them reach you.
• To email you a confirmation and follow up on your request.
• To check that our pages and ads work, and to measure which ones bring in requests.
• To keep records of requests, including for any fee a roofer may pay us for a connection.

• The roofer you choose. When you request a specific roofer, we send your request and contact details to that roofer only, sometimes straight into the roofer’s own customer system.
• Up to three roofers, when you ask us to compare. If you use a form that asks us to gather up to three quotes, we share your project details and property address with those roofers, and your phone and email only once you ask for an introduction.
• Service providers that run the site, email and records for us, such as our hosting, email, spreadsheet and analytics providers, and advertising platforms that measure our ads. They may use the information only to provide those services.
• When the law requires it, or to protect against fraud or abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not pass your request to roofers you did not choose.

When you submit a request and agree on the form, The Roofers Guide and the roofer you chose may contact you by phone, email or text, including automated texts, about your roofing project. Agreeing is not a condition of any purchase. Reply STOP to any text, or email hello@theroofersguide.com, and we will stop. Message and data rates may apply.

We keep request records while we are handling your request and for as long as we need them for our business records, then delete them. The roofer you chose keeps its own records under its own policies.

You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing hello@theroofersguide.com. You can also block or clear cookies in your browser. Our site is for adults; we do not knowingly collect information from children.
